A month ago, in New York, the Project Runway designers faced off for the finale and a chance at hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of prizes. This week the winner was chosen.
Kenley was colorful, as usual, but her collection was too fairy-tale and she didn't, as usual, take the judges and Tim's comments to heart.
I knew it would be between Leanne and Korto. Both displayed such beautiful collections, each expressing her own identity and personality. Once I saw Leanne's line, I was sure she was the winner. It definitely looked like it belonged on the runway and NY Fashion Week. What I thought might be a dull color pallete turned out to be just enough. What she lacked in color she more than made up for in structurally amazing pieces, interesting lines and innovation. As Michael Kors quoted "devine workmanship".
Once the judges started deliberating I thought they may choose Korto as the winner. Michael praised her for "injecting" her heritage into her outfits without becoming costume-ish. Tim said that she hit the "bulls-eye".
In the end The diverse and impecable collection put forth by Leanne stole the show and snagged the impressive prize package. She and Korto are definitely designers to watch!
